Bring your favorite materials to work with and study the nude figure. The model will sit for a number of short gestures, followed by one long pose. Guided by local figurative artist and Contracommon member, Holly Cerna.

The exhibition highlights Salvador Rodríguez’s panoramic acrylic paintings inspired by the vast expanses of the west Texas desert, capturing not only the flora and fauna of the desert but creating the invisible flow of the landscape and its spirit through composed experiences.

The opening reception on Saturday, Sept. 26 is free and open to the public.

This month’s Drink & Draw is extra special: we’ll be at Contracommon during Pecan St. Festival on Sunday September 13th from 12-4pm. Our current exhibition, Feedback Loop, will also be on view for its final weekend.

In this two-hour workshop, instructor Chelsea Wyld will lead each student through the process of developing of one roll of film. Students should bring a roll of film captured themselves. All other materials provided, including C-41 developer.

With over a decade of experience in both photography printing and arts education, Chelsea is ready to help you develop your film developing skills.

Experiment with textures to create personal works of art using acrylic paint, ink, imprints, and collage. Guest artist Susan Du combines sensory exploration with visual storytelling at this free community event!

Materials (optional):
1. Participants are welcome (but not required) to bring personal materials related to their own experiences to incorporate into their artwork: fabric, letters, small found objects, or other safe and non-toxic items.

2. Participants are also welcome (but not required) to bring their own paints, such as watercolor or acrylic, if they wish to work with familiar materials.

Hosted by The Glassclown, this beginner-friendly workshop will guide students through the craft of stained glass in a single-session class.
