On All Fours: Gallery Hours
Contracommon is proud to present On All Fours, a solo exhibition by emerging artist Elijah Cuminato. A duo show, Vigil, featuring works by Emily Griffith and Jay Northcott, will take place concurrently in the media room adjoining the main gallery.
On view from March 14th through April 9th, 2026, the gallery is open to the public Friday - Sunday from 12–6pm. Private viewing appointments are available Monday - Thursday at calendly.com/contracommon.
Sip + Solder Pet Paws: Stained Glass Workshop hosted by Deke Cameron
In this 4-hour, single-session class at Austin Beerworks, students will learn the basics of lead came construction and assembly of a stained glass suncatcher. Pet Paws is the theme! Students will get to choose between a cat paw or dog paw, while also choosing their own glass from a wide variety of colors and options.

Improve your art practice in this self-guided, live model session! Bring your favorite materials to work with and study the human form. The model will sit for a number of short gestures, followed by one long pose. Join us for this month’s session, hosted by Contracommon member Holly Cerna.
This independently-led session is for artists aged 18+ only. Drawing boards, tall stools, and easels are available but in limited supply, so be sure to arrive early or bring one along!

Stained Glass Holly Leaves hosted by Deke Cameron
In this class, students will assemble and solder a stained glass holly leaf ornament made from art glass sheets, glass globs, and lead came.
Hosted by The Glassclown, this beginner-friendly workshop will guide students through the labor-intensive craft of stained glass over the course of 4 hours. Students will break and grind glass, bend and form lead came, and learn proper use of a soldering iron.
Mario Kart Tournament and Holiday Party
Contracommon is proud to host a Mario Kart Tournament at their holiday party on December 13th, 2025 from 6-11pm, featuring vendors, snacks, and drinks. This is a chance for friends, artists, and community members to gather, celebrate the season, and play games together. The party will also act as a reception for our Merry Makers Market; it is free to attend and open to the public.

Holiday Card Linoleum Print Workshop
The focus of this workshop will be to make either holiday cards or standard prints that can be used as gifts or just to keep. Students will learn proper technique for linoleum block carving, including how to carve text.
OPEN CALL: FEEDBACK LOOP CRITIQUE GROUP
Contracommon invites local emerging artists to apply for a monthly critique group resulting in a collaborative exhibition in late August 2026. Selected artists will meet at Contracommon to share their practices and provide feedback, culminating in new works by each artist. Artists working in any media are encouraged to apply. 3D and media artists are encouraged to apply. Contracommon can provide some pedestals and some media equipment, if needed.

Merry Makers Market
Contracommon is proud to present the Merry Makers Market, a booth-style display of art and handmade goods from Austin-area artists, on view from Black Friday, November 28th, 2025 - January 2, 2026. We warmly invite the Bee Cave community to join us in uplifting creative small businesses during this season of giving. To celebrate, Contracommon will host a holiday party and Mario Kart Tournament on Saturday, December 13th from 6-11pm; it is free to attend and open to the public.

Sunday Sesh with C/C - Austin Studio Tour
Join us for a Sunday Sesh with C/C, featuring live music and a pop-up Drink and Draw session with Contracommon artists on November 9th, from 3-6pm. Guests are invited to bring a current project (or just a pen and paper for some doodling). The organization will also have some supplies for community use.
Artists from the organization will be participating, allowing guests to get to know them and their work a bit better. Anyone and any medium are welcome! Music from Honey Son (@thehoneyson), Rulitos (@iluvrulitos), and more!
AUSTIN STUDIO TOUR EXHIBITION
Contracommon is proud to partner with Ani’s Day and Night for the 2025 Austin Studio Tour. A temporary exhibition of work from our collective members and friends will be on display from October 24th through the end of November, including both weekends of Austin Studio Tour: Saturday and Sunday from 12-6pm on November 8th, 9th, 15th and 16th.
Stained Glass Spooky Spidy Webs hosted by Deke Cameron
In this hands-on class, students will assemble and solder a stained glass spider web made from a variety of pre-shaped art glass, as well as a glass glob spider crafted with decorative wire and lead came.

Contracommon is collaborating with Ani's Day and Night for their monthly Fourth Friday Art Soiree, an evening of Connections, Art, Music, Drinks, and much more. This month’s Fourth Friday event will take place on October 24th from 5-11pm.

Common Ground Art Fest
Contracommon’s Common Ground Art Fest is a full day event celebrating local arts and community—featuring 35+ creative vendors, 4 live music acts, and hands-on activities for all ages. The festival will take place on September 27th, from 12pm to 6pm, on the Hill Country Galleria’s central plaza. This festival directly supports the emerging artists and makers of Central Texas by connecting them with a huge community of art lovers throughout west Austin and the Hill Country.

Rainbow Tie Dye Workshop with Kelsey Baker
Embrace your inner child and play around with a summertime favorite: tie dye! This workshop will cover several classic tie dye patterns and techniques with an emphasis on THE RAINBOW, as well as an overview on how to use color theory within your designs.
This workshop is intended for artists of all ages.
