The Secret Garden is coming to life!
Contracommon is proud to present Secret Garden, a floral and fantasy themed exhibition featuring local emerging artists.
This exhibition was curated in support of our second annual Secret Garden Fundraiser which took place Friday, May 1st. Even after the big party, this exhibition is on view to elevate local artists and celebrate their floral works for spring. The gallery will be open for both days of the Pecan Street festival on May 9th and 10th from 11:00am-8:00pm; all gallery hours are free and open to the public.
Contracommon members reviewed and selected 27 artists from the Central Texas community to participate. Exhibiting artists include Amber Buck, Amy Lees, Ashley Lazarz, Chelsea Amato, Chris Tobar, Corey Robbins, Dawn Howell, Elexis Hernandez, Emily Marcom, Emma Ary, Gerardo Rodriguez, Grace Biltz, Harini Chokshi, Jin Liu, Jonna Lee, Karin Tuck Petersen, Kennedy Swift, Kerry Hugins, Kyla Gaganam, Lana Waldrep Appl, Lenora Pousland, MetaCaustics, Nicole Parker, Onix Mejias Rodriguez, Rachel Noffke, Stephanie Mervine, and Yazz Fawaz.
The opening event included a view of the artwork, open artist studios, performances, tattoos by Amy Lees, tarot card reading by Art From Noticing, and a studio installation by Metacuastics. This installation is still active in Studio 16 - guests are welcome to come and view this space for the duration of the exhibition.
