Contracommon is proud to present I’ve Had It., an absurdist pop-up guerrilla sculpture garden exhibiting 3D and interactive works from current Contracommon members and friends. The nonprofit group has partnered with their friends at Bolm studios to create this experimental space and transform their parking lot in conjunction with Austin Studio Tour (Stop #298 on the AST map). The show will be on view for the last two weekends of Austin Studio Tour from November 11th through 19th, 2023. In addition, Contracommon will host a party and open studios event on Friday, November 3rd from 6 – 9pm at their headquarters in Bee Cave to kick off all their programming for the Austin Studio Tour. This party and the Austin Studio Tour events are all free and open to the public.

Nestled beneath several… quaint tents on a patch of astroturf, I’ve Had It. presents the viewer with a whimsical landscape, a temporary refuge from the ordinary. Contracommon has transformed this space, once a dull slab of concrete, into a fertile ground for eccentricity, blurring the lines between the mundane and the ridiculous.

Contracommon is excited to host two additional events in conjunction with Austin Studio Tour: a temporary group exhibition on South Congress Ave, Within Reach (Stop #205); and an unofficial show and open studios event falling outside the AST borders at their gallery space in Bee Cave - RE/FLEX V, the latest in a series of group exhibitions featuring current works by emerging artists in Central Texas.

I’ve Had It. will be on view in the Bolm Arts parking lot (Stop #298 on the Austin Studio Tour map) from November 11th through November 19th, 2023. The sculpture garden is open to the public Saturdays and Sundays from 12-6pm.

The kickoff party and open studios event, sponsored by Tito’s Handmade Vodka and Big Country Organic Brewing Co., will be held on Friday, November 3rd from 6-9pm, and is free and open to the public.
