In this single-session class, students will learn the basics of lead came construction and assembly of a stained glass garden stake. Students will be presented with a themed pattern, their choice of glass pieces necessary for the project, and all tools and materials required to complete the project (materials include: lead came, solder, flux, copper wire).

The theme for May is flowers! Students will construct a stained glass flower for their decorative garden stake and choose their own glass from a wide variety of colors and options.

Safety warning: This workshop can expose you to chemicals including lead, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

Instructor bio:

Deke Cameron is a self-taught stained glass craftsperson and member-artist at ContraCommon, in Central Texas.  He watches a lot of television and movies and revels in nostalgia.  He also loves his dogs, Pete & Bella.
