Merry makers Market

Contracommon is proud to present our Merry Makers Market, a booth-style display of art and handmade goods from Austin-area artists on view from November 28th through January 2, 2026. Visitors are invited to stop by and shop original artwork from exhibiting artists, and search for unique gifts this holiday season.

Our Merry Makers Market will offer a range of artworks and products from exhibitors, including: original paintings, small drawings, ceramics, shadow boxes, stickers, magnets, reproduction prints, jewelry, clothing, and more! Contracommon is proud to host a Mario Kart Tournament at their holiday party on December 13th, 2025 from 6-11pm, featuring vendors, snacks, and drinks. This is a chance for friends, artists, and community members to gather, celebrate the season, and play games together. This holiday party will also act as a reception for our Merry Makers Market; it is free to attend and open to the public. 

The tournament will begin at 7:00pm, with doors opening at 6:00pm for driver check-in at our reception desk until 6:45pm. There is a $5 tournament entry fee for drivers, which comes with a free drink ticket. It is recommended to bring your own controller if you are participating in the races! Dressing up is encouraged: think holiday colors, tacky sweaters, and of course Mario & Nintendo Costumes. Contracommon will provide free snacks and beer while supplies last, with $5 cocktails available for purchase. At 10:00pm, the finals will begin! The top 4 racers will take home prizes crafted by local artists from our collective.

Contracommon is an artist-run nonprofit bringing art and people together. We host monthly art shows, hands-on workshops, and community events, while providing affordable studios and experimental gallery space to local artists. This Mario Kart Tournament, and much of our regular programming, was dreamed up by our studio members who use the space to practice their craft.

The Mario Kart Tournament will take place on Saturday, December 13th from 6-11pm.  Gallery hours for the Merry Makers Market are Friday through Sunday from 12–6pm from November 28th, 2025 - January 2, 2026.
